Whether you’re a girl looking for fun and friendship, a potential volunteer seeking a way to make a real difference, a parent who wants to spend more quality time with your daughter, or a job seeker who wants fulfilling work, Girl Scouts is the place for you!
All girls aged five through seventeen can join Girl Scouts. Adults also may register as Girl Scouts. The membership fee is $10 per year. Registrations can be made at any time during the year. The majority of Scout troops start in the fall. Although most troops start in September, the official Girl Scout year is from October 1 to September 30.
Every person who wants to become a registered Girl Scout must complete a registration form (PDF) and health history form (PDF). These can also be obtained from troop leaders. Girls are either placed in existing troops or assistance is provided to form a new troop.
Parent participation is a necessary (and fun!) part of Girl Scouting. Please take time to help in your daughter's troop. Adult volunteers can assist with leadership, doing paperwork or troop finances, serving as troop cookie chairperson or troop fall product chairperson (nuts and magazine subscriptions), driving, coming up with ideas, camping, organizing trips, doing community service projects, and more.
